Research Team Vegetable Systems Modelling

The research of the vegetable systems modelling section focusses on the analysis of the effects of environment, genotype and production system on growth and development of vegetables and other food crops. We use mathematical models, e.g. functional-structural plant models which allow the coupled three-dimensional representation of morphogenesis and physiological processes, or simulation models of yield formation for applied problems, e.g. the prediction of harvest time.

In teaching the section is involved in the B. Sc. programs in Molecular and Applied Plant Sciences and the M. Sc. programs in International Horticulture and Plant Biotechnology.
